This weekend sees two major events in the county which have the wholehearted backing of The Oxford Times. First, the Oxford Literary Festival starts on Saturday at Christ Church, with more than 300 authors and public figures gathering in the city at more than 250 events.
Many of the most popular writers for children and young people will also be attending, making the festival an event for the whole family.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, the OX5 Run is being staged for the tenth time in the grounds of Blenheim Palace.
It has raised tens of thousands of pounds each year for the Oxford Children’s Hospital.
Organisers are hoping for 1,000 people to take part this year and entries can be made up to 9.30am on the day. It is another family event not to be missed.
