A new playgroup building proved a hit with the children this weekend – as did the sweets.
Launton Playgroup, near Bicester, has operated from a portable building for the past 25 years.
But after about £175,000 funding from Oxfordshire County Council, the group is now based in a proper building within Launton Church of England Primary School.
Manager Anne Wasyliw said: “The new building is good. We have a nice dry, clean and hopefully problem-free environment now.
“The children love it.”
The portable cabin had recently had problems with leaks, damp and even an ant infestation.
Four-year-old Warren Wicks got stuck into a tasty treat at the opening. His mum Natalie said: “The kids loved it, they had a really fun day. The new building looks lovely.”
