THIS year’s Oxclean was a big success once again, but it could be even better if more people got involved.
In Old Marston, only about a dozen turned up to help, so I am told by a reliable source.
Duncan Hatfield who organises it and fellow councillor Pat Hall were the only two from the parish council who made the effort.
Councillor Mary Clarkson was there as always, but the new Labour candidate wasn’t.
That was quite surprising as she has lived in the village for a few years.
Perhaps she had a pre-engagement. Michael Haines and his agent Jo Bartlett came and did the full two hours.
There was no representative from the county council to help, not surprising as I have attended the last two parish council meetings and they didn’t attend and no apologies were given.
Thanks to all who did make the effort.
MICHAEL CLARKE, Lewell Avenue, Old Marston
