Regulars at a county watering hole are toasting a patron who scooped £1m on the Gold Cup on Friday.
Conor Murphy, a stable boy at the Seven Barrows yard near Lambourn, put a £50 accumulator bet on five of the stable’s horses in November. The Cork-born 31-year-old hit the jackpot when Riverside Theatre won Ryanair Chase last week.
Angus Tucker, landlord at Kingston Lisle’s Blowing Stone said: “It was a big celebration for the others, but Conor’s celebrating more than most.”
