A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested on suspicion of raping a teenage girl area near a basketball court in Hollow Way Park, Cowley.

Police said the 15-year-old girl had been with a group of teenagers in the park when the attack happened at about 8.30pm on Friday night.

Det Sergeant Linsdell said: “Our inquiry is at a very early stage and we are treating this matter very seriously.

“I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time or who has any other information which may assist us with our investigation to come forward as soon as possible.”

The boy was arrested early yesterday morning and has now been released on police bail until May 8.
