A passing doctor helped paramedics and fire crews as they battled to free two people trapped inside wrecked cars on the B4035.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a two-vehicle head-on collision at Tyne Hill just outside Swalcliffe just after 6.30pm, on Thursday.
A fire service spokesman said one of the injured drivers managed to get free, but the force of the impact left the other trapped inside their vehicle.
Fire crews, ambulance and the passing doctor, whose details are not known, worked together to free the driver from the wreckage.
Both drivers were treated by paramedics.
