YOUNGSTERS took to the floor to impress salsa judges with their steps, spins and twirls.
The competition was the culmination of months of dance practice as 160 children took part in the third inter-schools salsa challenge.
Children from Pegasus and Orchard Meadows Primary Schools in Blackbird Leys, Rose Hill Primary School and Willowcroft Community School in Didcot – including Ethan Townsend and Bethany James, pictured front – showed their moves for three judges from the Latin dance world.
Host school Orchard Meadows won the prize.
Member of the winning team Carly Ousley, 10, pictured inset with Klaidi Osmane, said: “It was great.
“I love it, it’s funky.”
Higher level teaching assistant at the school Kathy Barrett said: “The children love it.
“They start off not so keen dancing with the opposite sex, but it doesn’t take long before they really enjoy it.”
