MORE than £2,000 has already been bid for special Oxford United shirts to raise money for meningitis victim Charlotte Nott and the local charity helping her live life to the full.
During Saturday’s game against Rotherham United, the U’s will wear unique shirts bearing the logo of Charlbury-based charity Special Effect.
There will also be an embroidered message reading “United 4 Charlotte”.
It is hoped the shirts will raise hundreds for the charity and the four-year-old from Cowley who had the lower sections of her arms and legs amputated in 2010 after contracting an aggressive form of meningitis.
More than a year later, she is fighting fit but was having trouble playing computer games as she was unable to hold a standard controller.
SpecialEffect has now developed a special Wii controller so she can play the games she loves.
Charlotte is pictured on Jake Wright’s knee, with from left, Michael Duberry, James Constable, Acer Hall, Andy Wing and Tyrone Marsh, and the special United shirt.
