HOW many times have we heard this so-called coalition going on about getting disabled back into work?
Then you read that the Government is going to shut 36 out of Remploy’s 54 factories, which is going to put 1,500 disabled people out of work.
Remploy started up in 1945 as part of the new welfare state funded by the British taxpayer. It makes me sick when you read about these things. We have given so many billions away in overseas aid and yet this Government can’t, or doesn’t want to, look after its own countrymen and women to pay disability payments to these 1,500 people.
It’s about time this Government started to look after its own for a change. After all, charity should start at home – that’s a laugh with this lot.
