A FIRE next to the train line led to rail services between Oxford and Didcot being suspended for about four hours yesterday.
Firefighters had to make safe a gas cylinder which had caught fire about five metres from the line.
Passengers used replacement bus services between the stations and were allowed to use their tickets with another operator.
The fire was reported in Hinksey yard, near Redbridge park-and-ride, off Abingdon Road, Oxford, at 10.15am.
A 150m cordon was set up though no homes were evacuated.
It is not yet what caused the fire.
