Dog owners will be able to pit their pets against each other at a fundraising dog show at Cotswold Wildlife Park this Saturday.
The event, known as Scruffs, will raise cash for Sport Relief, which helps people living tough lives in the UK and in the world’s poorest countries.
The dog show will start at 1.30pm outside the Manor House and costs £2 per category to enter, with all money raised going straight to Sports Relief.
The categories are: best biscuit catcher, waggiest tail, best puppy, best golden oldie, dog the judge would most like to take home, best young handler, best hurdling dog, prettiest bitch and most handsome dog.
Owners, like park keeper Alan Pringle pictured last year with his Jack Russell Ella, right, can enter their dogs into as many categories as they want, and the winner from each category will go through to the best in show final.
Prizes include goodie bags, rosettes and free entrance to the park. The owner of the overall winning dog will receive an ‘animal encounter’ at the park.
The show will be judged by Helen Peacocke, author of Paws Under the Table, Paws for History and Paws Along the Way.
