Miss England winner Eleanor Glynn is planning to compete in the Miss Europe contest - but is terrified of flying to the finals in Ukraine.
Miss Glynn, 20, vowed never to fly again after a nightmare trip back from the Miss World contest in Poland last Sunday.
During the flight from Warsaw, the plane ran into stormy weather twice, before bouncing 20ft on the runway as it landed at Luton Airport.
Miss Glynn is looking forward to taking part in Miss Europe, which runs from October 14 to 28, but is so scared of flying she does not know how she is going to reach Kiev, the capital city where the finals are being held.
Speaking from her home in Sandford-on-Thames, she told the Oxford Mail: "The flight back from Miss World was horrific and I'm really not keen to fly again, so if there is an alternative way of getting there I would rather do that.
"The flight back from Warsaw was so frightening that it was everything I imagined a plane crash would be like without the actual crash.
"Miss Europe will be shown on TV all over Europe and I would love to compete in it because some of the girls from Miss World are now my friends and I am looking forward to seeing them again, but it's just a question of getting there."
Angie Beasley, Miss England organiser, who was with Miss Glynn on the flight back from Warsaw, said Eleanor would travel by Eurostar to Paris to meet other contestants, who are flying to Kiev from Paris on Friday, October 13.
"At that point, Eleanor could join them on the flight from Paris, because that would be the easiest way to get there, but at the moment I don't think that will be possible because of what happened," Miss Beasley added.
"We really want Eleanor to take part because it's a great opportunity for her - it's just a question of how to get her there. If it's not by plane, it could have to be by coach or train."
Miss Glynn confessed her fear of flying after she was chosen as Miss England earlier this year.
She went on a course to acclimatise her for her first ever flight, and the journey to Poland went smoothly, but the journey back may have put her off flying for good.
Miss Glynn did not come in the top three of Miss World, after failing to impress the judges with her singing in the talent show.
Miss Beasley added: "The Miss Europe contest does not have the same categories as Miss World, but it is still very prestigious and last year I think the prize money was £30,000. We will do everything we can to get Eleanor to Kiev."
To get to Kiev from Paris, Miss Glynn could travel to Kiev with Deutsche Bahn UK, changing at Cologne and Berlin.
She would set off at 10.55am on Friday, on the 1,324-mile trip and arrive the following day in Kiev at 10.53pm.
