LADIES may change their earrings more than their hair-dos, but at least they now don’t have to worry about chucking them into landfill.
Two eco-minded designers have created biodegradable jewellery which has gone on sale at Oxford Castle’s O3 Gallery priced from £12 to £25.
The nine designs are made with non-toxic, non-solvent acid free glues and “responsibly sourced” paper and card, and have sterling silver hooks.
Elizabeth Laskar and Jezelle Pigott set up Crumple to combine their love of the 1960s “disposable dress” craze and green issues.
Miss Laskar said:“We thought we would put something together where people can enjoy wearing something for a season and, if they get fed up with it, it won’t harm the environment to throw it away. But if you look after them, they can last forever.”
