I am truly astonished at the arrogance of Councillor Van Coulter – to say that no matter what the citizens of Oxford want, he will demolish Temple Cowley swimming pools anyway.

I was under the misguided impression that these councillors were voted into office to represent the public at large. No-one wants Temple Cowley pools demolished and no-one in Blackbird Leys wants the new swimming pool there.

I for one would not take my grandchildren to Blackbird Leys, no matter how good the pool. I would prefer to go to Swindon.

Also, as was mentioned in the Oxford Mail, what have we in West Oxford got? Why not spend some of the millions this pool will cost on some amenities for West Oxford?
