Peter and Pauline Franklyn met when Pauline was evacuated from Essex to Deddington in 1939.
She was 13 and he 16 and a local apprentice butcher.
Peter later enlisted in the Army and was involved in the liberation of France with the Tank Regiment.
Pauline returned to London at the end of the war but when Peter was demobbed in 1947 they were reunited and married, before living in Aynho and later in Banbury.
