OXFORD: BBC Oxford presenter Joel Hammer is leaving to take up a new role at the World Service.
Mr Hammer, 35, who has been presenting the 5am to 7am breakfast radio show for the past four-and-a-half years, will start his new role in Salford, Manchester, at the beginning of April.
The presenter, who writes the Larger than Life column for the Oxford Mail, said: “I will be part of the BBC sports team for the World Service so people in Lagos could be waking up to Joel Hammer. I will really miss Oxford but I’m hoping there won’t be quite so many early starts.”
BBC Oxford said an announcement would be made in due course about a new presenter.
