I write to offer support for Adrian Taylor who unsuccessfully tried to purchase a water butt from Homebase (Oxford Mail, March 2).
While I offer no excuse for Homebase, I would like to draw attention to the water butt and home compost bin offer all local councils have through Oxfordshire Waste Partnership, which means cheaper prices than most shops.
In order to encourage residents to save water and reduce waste we have negotiated a reduced price deal.
The current offer runs until the end of March and a new offer starts in April with a slight price increase.
Residents wanting to find out more about cheap water butts and home compost bins delivered to their door should visit: www.oxfordshirewaste.gov.uk or call 0844 571 4444.
Thames Water also have water butt offers, so please check with the water company too.
