A MAN climbed on to the roof of a burning centre for homeless young people.
Police were called to The Foyer in George Street, Banbury, just after 11pm yesterday.
Police spokesman Victoria Bartlett said they found the man on the roof in a state they described as 'agitated'.
Roof tiles were taken from the roof and thrown on to the ground, she added.
The building was evacuated and the road closed while firefighters extinguished the flames.
A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to dendanger life and criminal damage.
The Banbury Foyer provides accommodation for homeless young people while they find work or enrol for training.
The project is aimed at 16-25 year olds, and the George Street premises consists of 11 flats, 4 bedsits, a project office, and a communal room.
