A bid to turn Blackbird Leys Park into a protected Town Green was yesterday rejected by Oxfordshire County Council.
Fourteen residents applied for the status in June last year, to prevent plans to build a £9.2m swimming pool complex on the site.
But the council’s planning and registration committee rejected the proposal.
Residents must now decide whether to appeal the decision.
