Just over nine out of every 10 children have been offered a place at their first choice secondary school in the county.
In all, 5,505 of the 6,015 applications made were given their first choice school, 91.5 per cent of applications, a rise from 90.2 per cent in 2011.
A further 311 children were given places at their second choice school and 82 received places at their third choice of school.
That left 117 children who did not receive a place at any school that their parents had expressed a preference for.
Nationally, about 80 per cent of children received places at their first choice school.
