Rodney Rose, Oxfordshire County Council’s cabinet member for transport, is “unable” to say how much it cost to paint unnecessary yellow lines on roads in Headington – and 17 other places in the county – and then cover them up (Thursday’s Oxford Mail).
Does he really not know how much this futile exercise cost?
As transport boss, he should know how much every traffic plan costs.
Surely he’s not lying to cover up this stupid waste of our council taxes?
The county council keeps telling us that it has insufficient money to fund youth clubs, facilities for the elderly and disabled, etc.
Yet it continually wastes our money on daft traffic schemes which often need revising or removing.
Think of the money we could save if we got rid of Rodney Rose and his inept team of traffic ‘planners’.
