Nobody in Kidlington would be baffled by yellow lines, as for several years our High Street has been decorated with beautiful bright yellow lines to make it brighter.
At sunrise it’s a sight to behold – the High Street flowing off into the eastern sunrise and, in the evening, the setting sun casts its shadow and orange glow down the High Street.
Who would not wonder at nature’s marvellous tapestry?
Nothing’s perfect, of course! The flowing vista of yellow into the dawn and sunset is often marred by the break-up of the continuous bright colour to the left and to the right by the wheels of parkers casting their shadows over, and even totally obscuring, our beautiful bright yellow lines flowing down both sides of our High Street.
Is there no traffic warden of true valour who would not see to it that nobody should obscure from view those decorative lines which have given so much pleasure to the local shoppers, even unto the outer edges of the market and the daft vegetables thereof?
Of course, there’s nothing new under the sun but there’s something new under the parked vehicles in Kidlington High Street which cannot be seen unless one lies down, rolls over and stares at the small bricks, mosaics and cobbles that make up our High Street. You have to see it to believe it.
