There seems to be nothing but praise from Oxford United supporters of the way the police handled Saturday’s derby game with Swindon.
A potentially fiery clash – off the field as well as on it – was handled in a professional and controlled way by officers.
There was always going to be a small minority who came to the match looking for trouble, but the feeling leaving the Kassam Stadium on Saturday afternoon was that everything possible had been done to ensure that Oxford fans were able to enjoy the game.
And with the 2-0 result, the majority certainly did.
