THE body of a woman found in an Abingdon stream was yesterday confirmed to be that of missing Joanna Lake.
Ms Lake, 58, had been missing for more than a week before a member of the public spotted her body in a stream next to Audlett Drive on Thursday evening.
Officers believe her body had been in the water for many days.
Ms Lake had last been seen by a friend at her home in Pudsey Close on Monday, February 20.
Both police and her family had appealed for information to help find her and search efforts included using the Thames Valley Police helicopter.
The body was confirmed yesterday as being Ms Lake’s and police have ruled out foul play.
Police spokesman Rebecca Webber said: “The matter is not believed to be suspicious and has been passed to the coroner.”
An inquest will be held to determine how Ms Lake died.
