The woman killed by a train at Wolvercote was last night identified as the wife of a famous Polish film director.
Officials formally identified the woman as 53-year-old Irina Pawlikowska,corr who lived in Lincombe Lane in Boar's Hill, Oxford.
She died when she was struck by a train at Wolvercote on Tuesday afternoon. Police are investigating whether she committed suicide.
Her husband is Polish director Pawel Pawlikowski, who made his breakthrough with his debut feature Last Resort in 2000. He is a Creative Arts Fellow at Oxford Brookes University.
