A teenager yesterday admitted to a jury he was a burglar but denied being the man who sexually attacked a student at her college.

Sead Mirvic, 18, of Ingle Close, Northway, Oxford, stands accused of burglary, sexual assault and causing grievous bodily harm following an incident at an Oxford college involving a female student on October 14 last year.

Mirvic, a burglar who committed an average of five break-ins a week over a four-month period in 2005, denies all the charges.

At Oxford Crown Court yesterday he told the jury how he went about burgling homes, telling them he would knock on doors to check if residents were home.

Paul Reid, prosecuting, put to Mirvic that, on the night of the incident, he knocked on the victim's door inside a hall of residence.

Mr Reid said: "There was a girl there and suddenly your adrenaline rush came back and hit you and in that split second you went for her. You attacked her, so viciously that you knocked her out."

Mirvic replied: "No."

The case continues.
