Sir, I am pleased that my letter of September 22 resulted in three respondents. Barbara Raw reveals that an astonishing 90 buses an hour use Queen Street which is obviously the cause of the log jams.
A solution was found to pedestrianise Cornmarket Street, therefore, I feel sure it must be possible for our clever highways planners to do the same for this equally important shopping street in which pedestrian flows will considerably increase when the new Westgate is opened. The safety of pedestrians is paramount and this is my great concern.
