Sir, As a regular city cyclist could I use your columns to remind students and other newcomers to Oxford of the rules of the road? Don't cycle in Queen Street and Cornmarket between 10am and 6pm. Don't ignore red traffic lights. Do use the green cycling boxes at junctions. Do have cycle lights and a bell. And don't ride on pavements. If we cyclists ignore the law there will be plenty of car drivers only too eager to condemn us. Welcome to cycling city.
John Tanner , Labour environment spokesman, Oxford City Council
