A 47-YEAR-OLD man, who died after fire swept through his Woodcote bungalow, has been named as Hugh Morton.
His 77-year-old father escaped the blaze in Behoes Lane after being woken by the fire at 2am on Saturday.
Thirty-seven firefighters from Goring, Wallingford, Didcot, Eynsham, Henley, Reading and Pangbourne fire stations attended the scene.
Julian Green, risk reduction officer for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, said when firefighters arrived they quickly found a middle-aged man who had been overcome by smoke inside the bungalow.
He said they carried the man outside but he was pronounced dead by paramedics.
