DETECTIVES have released a third man on police bail after questioning him over the shooting in Barton.
The 24-year-old was arrested on Monday on suspicion of attempted murder before being released later that night.
Forty-year-old Niall Sterry was shot twice in the leg following violent clashes outside his home in Ilsley Road in Barton on Saturday, September 23.
Yesterday Detective Inspector Simon Morton said he now believed that, contrary to some witnesses' reports, only two shots were fired as Mr Sterry - said to still be in a comfortable condition - was injured.
Anyone with information can call Det Insp Morton at Oxford CID on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
