Well done to Faringdon for taking all 3 points from a game in which Summertown had the majority of possession.
Summertown started well, with 2 goals from Luke Stephenson in the first 10 minutes, and then they dominated territorially until half-time - but were unable to convert their chances into goals.
With a change of ends, it was a different story, and Faringdon - playing with the wind behind them - soon pulled one back through Ben Procter.
Meanwhile, Summertown were still making inroads time after time into the Faringon penalty, but as in the first half couldn't put the ball into the back of the net - credit to Faringdon for some dogged defending, and never quite letting Summertown have that clear-cut chance from which they would have scored.
Finally, the game decided as Faringdon were awarded 2 penalties, both despatched emphatically by Niall Tutty. It is safe to say that neither time was Summertown's goal under threat, but the rules are the rules, and penalties they were.
So, well done to Faringdon for staying calm under pressure and making Summertown pay for their lack of finishing.
