POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a collision involving seven vehicles on the B4011 (Bicester Road), between Long Crendon and Oakley.
The crash, on Friday, happened about 400 metres toward Oakley from the entrance to Woodway Farm.
Vehicles had been held up in the Oakley-bound carriageway due to the presence of a recovery truck, parked in the road, attempting to recover a car from the hedgerow.
Police said a dark blue Ford Focus then came around the corner and collided with several vehicles before coming to rest on the opposite side of the road.
The female driver of the Ford Focus sustained serious injuries and, after being removed from the vehicle by the ambulance and fire services, was taken by air ambulance to the John Radcliffe Hospital where her condition is critical.
Police are appealing for any witnesses prior to the collision. or the collision itself.
