POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Middleton Road, Banbury, today in which a five-year-old boy was seriously injured.

The accident, which happened at about 8.45am, involved a blue Citroen Xsara. Police said the boy was taken to the Horton General Hospital with serious head injuries where he remains in a serious condition.

The male driver of the car was not injured.

The road was closed in both directions for three hours while collision investigators worked at the scene.
