A PRISON officer has been jailed for six years after being found guilty of four counts of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply.
Jonathon Geoffrey Rattigan, formally of Kingfisher Way, Bicester, pleaded not guilty to all four counts, which relate to a raid on his home by officers on June 6, 2005.
Officers discovered cannabis, heroin and steroids concealed in four shampoo bottles. He was convicted of all charges after a two-day trial at Oxford Crown Court.
Sgt Steve Willis, of Bicester police, said: "At the time of his arrest, Rattigan was a serving prison officer. It appears he was going to supply these drugs to prisoners in HMP Bullingdon.
"A lot of hard work was put in by officers, working with the prison service, to gather enough intelligence to obtain a warrant and secure a conviction.
"I am very pleased with the sentence passed by the court and hope it will serve as a warning to others that we will always investigate and convict drug dealers, regardless of the environment or the persons involved."
