No doubting Thomas' contribution to Kidlington's cause.

Thomas Anderson came off the bench to score the decisive second goal as a great team effort saw Kidlington see off a resilient Chalgrove team in the Under 11 A league.

It was very much a game of two halves. In a dour first half, Chalgrove had much of the possession and had the better of what opportunities did arise, with only a goal-line clearance from Marcus Tranter and a fine save from Ben Owen keeping Kidlington on terms. Left-back Fraser Day also caught the eye with an assured display throughout in a game where defenses were generally on top.

Boss Ian Sykes's interval team talk was obviously inspirational however, as the home team stepped up a gear in the second half having most of the possession in Chalgrove's half and creating many chances. Captain Callum Rolfe hit the side netting from the right and then the bar from a seemingly impossible angle from the left, Luca Sykes saw a header flash narrowly wide, and Ben Stewart went close from distance before the breakthrough came. Sykes made a great run down the right and crossed for substitute Aarron Rowland to open the scoring with a confident finish giving Kidlington a deserved lead. The home team continued to press, with Ben Stewart hitting the bar, but Chalgrove still presented a threat on the break and it was only when Anderson stylishly hooked in Rolfe's late cross that the home team made the game safe.

All the home squad contributed in a solid team performance and credit also to Chalgrove for their part in a tight match.
