The first game of 2012 was a slow starter and it took twenty minutes for the boys to run off the turkey and Christmas pudding. Then in a five minute flurry Dan Jacob had a chance stopped on the line for Faringdon Town, Pierce Reeves made a great save for Faringdon Town and Northway Boys hit the post.

The flurry ended with Faringdon Town taking the lead. Josh Lovegrove made a good interception to stop Northway Boys pushing forward and his pass eventually fell to Dan Jacob who found the net.

Northway Boys kept pushing forward and equalised shortly before half-time with a goal from Zac Moffatt following a great solo run from the halfway line.

The second half was also slow to get started and it was ten minutes before either goalkeeper was called into action when the Northway Boys keeper was forced to make a good stop.

Faringdon Town then had to change their keeper when Pierce Reeves received an accidental bang to the head. Leon Redwood-Hanson took the gloves and had to make a great save within a minute of taking his place between the posts.

Both teams continued to create chances but with time beginning to run out it looked like the game would end as a draw. However with two minutes left Benji Procter picked up the ball and made a good run down the left wing before finding Patrick Noakes who coolly slotted home to win the game for Faringdon Town.
