PART of the M40 was closed for an hour yesterday evening after a car caught fire on the hard shoulder.
Fire crews were called to the incident on the northbound carriageway between junctions six and seven shortly before 5.45pm.
All three lanes of the carriageway were shut whilst the fire was extinguished, but reopened shortly after. No one was injured.
