The Ferraris of Felipe Massa and Michael Schumacher left their mark on the second practice session for the Chinese Grand Prix as the pair posted the quickest times among those participating in Sunday's race.
Grove-based WilliamsF1 test driver Alexander Wurz was fastest around the Shanghai International Circuit for the second session in a row, completing his trip around the raceway in a time of one minute 35.539 seconds as he and BMW Sauber test driver Sebastien Vettel battled for the best time.
Vettel had to settle for second, four-hundredths-of-a-second behind Wurz with Honda test driver Anthony Davidson third.
Brazilian Massa came in fourth fastest - and first of the non-test drivers - just ahead of his Ferrari team mate, seven-time world champion Schumacher.
Defending champion Fernando Alonso made his first trip out on to the tarmac in the Enstone-built Renault after skipping the morning session and finished fifth with a time posted early in the session.
Alonso made another run later in the session but failed to match the pace of his first sojourn and he spun his Renault just before the end of the session as a light sprinkling of rain fell on the track.
Alonso's team-mate Giancarlo Fisichella posted the tenth fastest time of the session, just ahead of the Brackley-built Honda of Jenson Button.
