The statement quoted by the Pope is a matter of historical record.
What's the problem? Because it relates unfavourably to Islam, is no-one allowed to mention it?
It's OK for the President of Iran to constantly spout anti-Semitic and anti-Christian rhetoric, but as soon as the boot is on the other foot, Muslims are outraged and we see worldwide demonstrations.
Do we ever see Christians rioting, burning flags and destroying the places of other faiths because someone speaks out about their religion? No, we do not.
We are told that Islam is a peace loving, understanding religion that condemns violence, and that the terrorists, suicide bombers and hate preachers who demand death to all non-believers are a minority.
In that case, why do the majority not do more to condemn them? It seems nothing has changed in 700 years.
