I refer to John Green's letter about councillors agreeing to serve four years with the political organisation of their choice, then heading for pastures new before completing their term (Oxford Mail, September 20).
People make the effort and the time to register their vote, then find their chosen representative has decided to abandon the ward, thereby nullifying the rhetoric promising to work dilligently on behalf of the people and the community.
This matter is about principle and loyalty, and inevitably leads to politicians being landed with an appendage of hypocrisy.
There is little doubt this issue will only add to the problem of low voting figures when potential voters realise how pointless it might be casting a vote.
