Sir, Mr Roger Moreton's letter relating to Yellow Pages directories (Burglar's guide, August 18), raises concerns regarding the delivery of the new edition of the directory in his area during the school and academic summer holidays.
Yell has a very clear policy regarding delivery of Yellow Pages directories. Our delivery agents undergo thorough training before delivery commences and we closely monitor householders' satisfaction with each delivery.
We make every effort to ensure that new editions of the Yellow Pages directory are delivered properly and are not visible to passers by or left exposed to the elements. Ideally, the directories are handed over to each householder, but when that is not possible, they should be left in a dry, secure place out of sight from passers by or with a neighbour, and with a card through the door saying where or with whom the directory has been left.
Alternatively, a card may be left with a number to call to arrange re-delivery. I am sorry that our normal delivery process does not appear to have been adhered to.
