Newly-promoted Oxfordshire started their new campaign with a brilliant 26-13 win against Derbyshire in their Kaliber Inter Counties League Division 2 match at Cowley Community Centre.
The ladies B team got the hosts off to a great start winning 5-1, with lady of the match going to Cath Birch with an average of 18.11.
Oxon men's B put them further ahead with an 8-4 success, with David Essex (24.36) leading their charge.
So Oxon went into Sunday with a commanding 13-5 advantage.
The ladies A recorded a 4-2 success, with their award going to Linda Jones (20.31).
With the score now standing at 17-7, Oxon men's A fought hard to draw 6-6, Ade Larner top-scoring with an avage of 30.67.
With the final score 23-13, Oxon picked up three bonus points, giving them 26 in their first game.
