POLICE are appealing for witnesses after vandals broke into Banbury School and caused extensive damage.
They entered the Banbury School Site, Ruskin Road, sometime between 10pm on Friday and 8am Saturday and caused damage to the Lower School, Broughton Building part of the complex.
They smashed 14 windows and ransacked two classrooms. Three televisions and four fire extinguishers were damaged. A television and a fire extinguisher were found in the garden of a property in Bloxham Road, which backs on to the school site.
Schools' liaison officer Sharon Harris said: "The offenders have a complete disregard for everyone in the community who uses this crucial building.
"The damage has been estimated at approximately £3,000 to repair and replace the items. I would urge anyone who witnessed the damage or saw anything suspicious to contact me."
