Police investigating a shooting on Oxford's Barton estate have arrested a 34-year-old local man on suspicion of attempted murder.
Armed officers were called to a house in Ilsley Road shortly after 11.20pm on Saturday after reports of a disturbance at a house party.
It is believed that a group of youths gate-crashed the party and, following a row with another group, a man arrived with a shotgun and hit a 41-year-old man in the leg while he was in the garden.
The offender then fled. The victim was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, where he remains with non-life threatening leg injuries.
Ilsley Road was sealed off yesterday as officers carried out a forensic search.
Det Insp Simon Morton, who is investigating the incident, said: "Officers have conducted investigations at the scene and nearby throughout the day, including gathering forensic evidence and house-to-house inquiries.
"Two houses on the estate have been searched and a suspect has now been arrested.
"This individual is currently in police custody being questioned.
"The heightened police presence in the area is likely to continue for a few days and I would like to thank the local community for their assistance with this investigation so far."
Anyone who witnessed the attack, or who has any information is asked to call Det Insp Morton on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
