A 38-year-old man has been charged with assaulting police officers and criminal damage, after a man attacked a patrolling police car with a piece of wood, smashing a side window.
The incident happened in Marsh Lane, Marston, on Monday at about 12pm after two officers saw a man holding a large piece of wood and stopped to talk to him. He also allegedly assaulted a police officer.
Police are anxious to trace people who either saw the incident or may have been approached or threatened by a man in the Marston area of Oxford over the last few weeks.

The man who was arrested appeared before Oxford magistrates and was remanded in custody.
