FALSE teeth, live tarantulas, a six-foot stuffed bear and a coffin. No, it’s not The Addams Family’s weekly shopping list... it’s just some of the strange things that have turned up at Oxfordshire’s recycling plants in the past year.
The list of weird and wonderful waste was released by the Oxfordshire Waste Partnership to celebrate Halloween.
Spokesman Paul Mocroft said: “People at Stanford in the Vale recycling centre found a live tarantula in a glass tank.
“I’ve no idea why someone thought the spider could be recycled, but he’s now been rehomed anyway.”
Perhaps the strangest object brought to a recycling plant was a six-foot stuffed bear, which was left at Dix Pit site at Stanton Harcourt.
