A WOMAN fell from a bridge over the A34 last night.
A member of the public rang police after becoming concerned for the welfare of the woman, who was on a bridge in Bagley Wood Road in Kennington.
Officers attended just after 7.30pm and the A34 was closed in both directions. Trained police negotiators were called to the scene.
At about 8.10pm the woman fell from the overbridge onto the southbound carriageway, suffering serious injuries.
She was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for treatment. Her condition was described as not life-threatening.
Police said although injured, she was stable.
The A34 was reopened in both directions at about 8.50pm.
An investigation into the incident is under way.
