It’s not often I support Thames Valley Police, but I have to stick up for them regarding the parking in the service road (Oxford Mail, October 12).

In the HQ there is a computer, so take the car numbers and, if it’s owned by an employee, tell them to move the vehicle.

Other than shift workers, there is a very good bus service or car share.

However, I have frequently seen drivers park in the service road and get on a bus. Likewise, the service road opposite by the Post Office is often full for the same reason.

Fixed penalty tickets and towing away would solve the problem.
