A YOUNG woman was dragged away and attacked last night after visiting the shops in Rose Hill.
The 19-year-old victim went to the shops in Rose Hill, Oxford, at about 11pm.
As she left the shops, a man dragged her to a nearby grassy area and sexually attacked her.
The attacker is described as black, of medium build and around 5ft 6ins tall. He was wearing all white clothing.
Detective Inspector Steve Duffy, leading the investigation, said: “We are still at the very early stages of this investigation but we would urge anyone who saw anything that could be connected to this attack to come forward.
“We would also encourage anyone who matches this description, or anyone who has seen someone arrive home last night wearing this very distinctive clothing, to come forward so that they can be eliminated from this inquiry.”
It comes after a string of sexual assaults in East Oxford, Cowley and Blackbird Leys over the past few months.
Anyone with information should contact Detective Inspector Duffy via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
