Sir – I never really thought I would be afraid of adolescents until last week when I went to Alexandra Parks in Summertown.
With my mother, I took my toddler to the under-5s area. In there, there were three boys on bikes, cycling though the sandpit, up and down the slide, racing around doing skids and even taking their bikes up on to the wobble bridge and tower, all within inches of babies. Not a care in the world.
My mother reminded them that there were babies within inches of their tyres. They couldn’t care less only mumbled under their breath.
I didn’t feel safe and the other younger mothers there certainly didn’t either.
I was also worried for my mother for speaking out as you didn’t really know how they were going to react. Maybe the council should put a camera in there?
